My Grama Betty

Im creating this blog in honor of my grandmother elizabeth.  I want others to have a piece of her wisdom...

If you ask my great grandmother what type of a person she wants to be her response is this..
"I want to be a real lady.  I want to live my life as I saw my mother.  She wad the most gentle, kind hearted, dignified, and a proper lady."

In my eyes, my grandmother is every thing she hopes to be.  I see her as even more..you will see...let me introduce her to you.

She lives in a small yellow. House that is surrounded by flowers. Sweat peas climb her little porch welcoming you in with their tiny pink flowers smiling at you.

She spends many hours on beautiful days sitting on her porch enjoying the fragrance of her beautiful flowers and listens to the robins gentle songs.   Occasionally upon entering the house mr. Bossy butt my grandmothers favorite hummingbird may dart around you on his way to her feeders.

Upon entering her house you are greeted with the warm scents of coffee, and roses.

Everything in her house is elegant but cozy. The creaks in her floor boards seem to whisper "relax welcome home"

Here comes Grama. A tall broad shoulder woman with a sturdy thin frame. Always dressed in a cotton dress with her hair silver hair tied loosely in a bun. She has a warm smile that softens your heart immediately.  Her eyes look dim but soon after her smile spreads across her face it reaches her eyes.  They shine a twinkly blue. Her skin has creases but is impeccably smooth with out a single blemish or freckle.

When she leans in to great you with a back slapping hug her scent is very gentle. The faintest smell if caress bar soap and Chantilly powder.

Her voice is sing songy with only the slightest hint of the 94 years of age.
She always sings her hellos to you and makes you feel like you are gift she has been waiting for.

Before she begins her visits she sits you at her kitchen table. A small four seated table with smooth white linoleum resting on the round top.

While you get adjusted and settled in for the best conversation you have ever had she talks about the small things while she hurriedly gets her kettle to pour her a warm cup of green tea and honey...
